Horseriding
I have been riding for about 8 years now and actively competing for the past 3 years. Over these years, I have ridden many horses and learned a lot from them - not just how to become a better rider, but how to be a better communicator, a better collaborator, and a more empathetic human being. I enjoy pushing myself to become a better rider and have been regularly competing in show jumping events and occasionally in dressage events. I typically ride 5 times a week, which involves a combination of jumping, dressage, and self-riding sessions.
Competitive Showjumping
I currently compete at the 100cm level and plan to pursue 110cm and potentially 120cm over the course of the next year. I regularly participate in jumping shows at all the riding clubs in Singapore.

Pony Club Volunteering
For two summers, I volunteered to help out at my riding club's Pony Camp sessions. Alongside teaching young riders how to tack up and care for their ponies, I assisted the instructors with ridden lessons, from running alongside the children as they learned to trot to advising the more advanced riders on their two-point position. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, even more so now that I can see those same riders start to enter the competition circuit in Singapore.
Volunteering for Fundraisers and Shows
Before I even began competing in showjumping, I loved, and still love, helping out at training shows and other events. I didn't even have to ride to enjoy setting up the jump courses, keeping track of faults and clear rounds, and even just assisting and monitoring the riders coming in and out of the arena. Through my experience on the ground at shows, I learned how to memorize courses without errors, as well as other skills that have greatly helped me as I transitioned from steward to competitor.
